    First Take
The 911 has been the quintessential Porsche since 1964. Although it hasn't changed much in its classic proportions and appearance, the current generation that bowed in 1999 is among the only true sports cars that can serve as a daily driver as well. The 911's handling is agile and much more forgiving than previous incarnations of the car. The ride is not punishing and the engine sound from the rear-mounted 3.6-liter boxer Six is invigorating. Unlike other sports cars, access is relatively easy, visibility is good, and even tall people are easily accommodated. There are two rear seats for kids. The model line comes as coupe, targa and convertible body styles and includes all-wheel-drive and turbo versions.
