Hyundai ventured into the full-size luxury car market for the first time with the Equus, but their effort has produced mixed results. Aimed squarely at the Lexus LS, the Equus has almost exactly the same dimensions, but is priced tens of thousands less. Inside, the interior is spacious and well finished in the requisite leather and wood, with a very roomy rear seat. The ride is comfortable, the cabin quiet, and the V8 powertrain is very smooth. But the Hyundai doesn't quite measure up to the established luxury brands. Ride motions can be a bit busy, and handling is not agile. The interior is very nice, but doesn't feel quite as luxurious as the best.
