Alert

In April 2026, certain Generac portable generators were recalled because fuel can leak from the carburetor when the generator is first filled with gasoline, posing a risk of serious injury or death from fire and burn hazards.

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled generators and check whether their model and serial number are included in the recall at Generac’s website. If the unit is affected, particularly if it has not yet been fueled or has shown fuel leakage, consumers should contact Generac to arrange a free repair through an authorized dealer. Consumers with generators that have already been filled and have not exhibited leakage may continue to use them.

For more information, contact Generac toll-free at (800) 396-9951 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. CT Monday through Friday, or visit www.generac.com/about/recalls/GP-Carburetor or www.generac.com and click on “Important Recall Information.”

Detailed Test Results

POWER DELIVERY: Delivered more than enough wattage to power our test appliances and handled surges very well.
POWER QUALITY: Provided especially clean power with consistently high voltage.
NOISE: Neither quiet nor noisy from a distance of 23 feet, though still may be noticeable when run overnight.
EASE OF USE: Easy to start and (for portables) transport, with some helpful features for starting and operating the generator.
