The Genesis model from Hyundai was dropped at the end of the 2016 model year, but became its own free-standing brand for 2017. Previously known as the Hyundai Genesis, it is now called the G80. Now these luxury cars are called Genesis G80 (which offers both a 3.8-liter V6 and 5.0-liter V8) and the larger Genesis G90 (which offers both a twin-turbocharged 3.3-liter V6 and 5.0-liter V8).

In most cases, automotive warranties are based on the vehicle identification number (VIN), and the warranty will be valid regardless of ownership. The dealership can tell you exactly how much warranty is left.
Read more about extended warrantiesThe redesigned 2021 Genesis G80 is based on a new rear-drive platform, with the latest infotainment features, and innovative advanced safety features. It competes with the Mercedes E-Class and BMW 5-Series. Beneath the sleek shape is an all-new structure shared with the GV80 SUV. The standard engine is a turbocharged 300-hp 2.5-liter four-cylinder and the uplevel engine is 375-hp, 3.5-liter V6 turbo that provides effortless acceleration. All-wheel drive is optional. Ride comfort is impressive and handling is responsive. Fit and finish is top notch. However, the infotainment system is very tricky to use. Standard safety features include forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, and blind spot and rear cross traffic warning. An AWD Sport trim is added for 2022 with optional rear wheel steering and is the only trim available with the 3.5-liter V6.
Part of the launch of Hyundai's upscale brand is the renaming of existing models. Previously known as the Hyundai Genesis, it is now called the G80. For about $10,000 less than competing midsized luxury sedans, the G80 delivers just about every feature and luxury attribute a buyer could imagine. Offered with a smooth and refined V6 or a potent V8, the G80 has responsive handling and a comfortable ride, though it can't quite match its German competitors. Our tested AWD V6 returned a competitive 20 mpg overall. Controls are refreshingly straightforward for a luxury car. Rear-seat passengers are pampered with amenities, including seat heaters, and space is plentiful. Most versions come with automatic emergency braking and blind-spot monitoring.
