    Road Test

Although based on the excellent BMW 3 Series, we found the ride quality in our 2004 X3 to be stiff and choppy, we suggest looking for a later model if ride comfort is an issue for you. On the positive side, the X3 has a smooth powertrain, agile handling and can tackle moderate off-road terrain. The cabin is roomy and access is easy.
