If you’re here, you love a good bargain, and I’m the perfect person to help you find one. I spend every day combing through page after page of retailer sites, checking prices of everything we test here at Consumer Reports. So I know right away when something is at a better discount than usual.
And if you don’t see anything you want in this list, don’t worry! Prime Day is coming this June 23 to 26 (and Best Buy, Walmart, and Target have also announced competing sales). That means there will certainly be more opportunities to save soon. But in the meantime, maybe you’re shopping for a Father’s Day gift—you have one week left. So I’ve curated a list of the best offers available right now, most of which are at better-than-usual prices, and a few are the best deals I’ve ever seen for those products.
A deal isn’t just about the size of the discount. I’ve chosen these products because they’re not only at great prices, but they’re also top performers in our lab tests and home evaluations. I’m a firm believer in a good deal starting with a high-quality product, so that’s always the No. 1 factor in determining whether something is worth your money. Price is obviously important, too, so I’m taking into account the average price, the typical discounts, and how often an item goes on sale when I determine how impressive a deal really is.
There are other items on sale as well, so if you want to keep hunting for more discounts, head over to the CR Deals Hub, where I share the top offers on everything CR tests, including tech devices like headphones and TVs, kitchen appliances like air fryers and stand mixers, and home goods like air purifiers and lawn care tools.
The Marshall Emberton II is $30 less than it has been recently, just $3 more than its best price. This is a good-sounding small portable Bluetooth speaker that differentiates itself with its styling. So if you want to avoid the typical cylindrical speaker in Skittles colors, the Emberton II is an elegant option. Channeling the styling of its namesake company, the Emberton II is a nice gift for the guitar geek in your life. Unlike Marshall’s larger models, which sport satisfyingly beefy knobs, the baby Marshall wasn’t particularly easy to use in our lab tests.
This cost-conscious 11-piece stainless steel cookware set from The Cellar is at the lowest price I’ve ever seen, as it’s a final sale item. It includes two frying pans, two saucepans, a sauté pan, a stockpot, a silicone trivet, and four lids. The set, a Macy’s exclusive, aces our tests for cooking evenness, speed of heating, and food release. It’s also easy to clean, earning an excellent score. The handles stay safe and cool, but they aren’t so sturdy, earning a mediocre rating for that test.
Samsung UN75U7900F
Costco’s price is half of what it was a few months ago, and possibly the best TV deal I’ve seen all year, especially. We didn’t test this 75-inch set, but we did test the 50-inch Samsung UN507900F, and it did well for overall picture quality, but it couldn’t deliver a compelling HDR experience. This is a more entry-level 60Hz set in Samsung’s Crystal UHD lineup, although it features Samsung’s Q Symphony technology, which allows you to use the TV’s speakers and a Samsung soundbar simultaneously.
This DeWalt DCD701F2 drill is $40 less than it was a few weeks ago. It has excellent power and above-average speed—plus, its handling is very good, too. It won’t take long to charge, and it won’t be especially noisy while working. This drill weighs 2.4 pounds, making it lighter than average. That said, it has a plastic chuck and doesn’t come with any bit storage.
The Kamado Joe Classic is one of the few grills we’ve tested that’s on sale, and Amazon just dropped the price back down to the lowest I’ve seen. It’s our top-rated ceramic kamado and comes packed with features, including a few that make it a stellar smoker. It has an elevated rack and comes with a heat deflector for smoking meats, both of which allow you to easily slow-cook, say, a brisket, without drying it out. It also has adjustable dampers and a locking lid, which help control the flow of air so that you can maintain a low and slow smoke for hours on end. It excelled at slow-cooking a pork shoulder in our tests, as well as at cooking a thin-crust pizza over high heat, helping it earn a rating of Excellent for cooking performance.
Ice Bath
Pod Company Pro IcePod 2.0
This portable ice bath from Pod Company is still available for a great low price. It’s been available at this price for a while now, and it can make a great gift for Dad this year. In our evaluations, it was easy to set up and take apart. It is smaller than the comparable Cold Pod XL (which costs a bit more), but otherwise, the two are very similar. So it may be better suited for smaller individuals. For example, one of our evaluators was around 6 feet tall and about 200 pounds and found this one to be a bit cramped compared to the other model. That said, if you don’t mind close quarters and like the price to test out ice baths at home, this could be just what you’re looking for.
The Lenovo Yoga Slim 7i is $350 less than it was recently, making it a great time to buy. It may be a good choice for college students on the go. It lasted longer than most other laptops of its size in web browsing battery tests, at almost 20 hours. The screen shows a wide range of colors that appear accurate in display tests. Performance speeds are quick for complex productivity work, and are able to handle most demanding tasks.
Cuisinart ICE-21P1 Frozen Yogurt, Ice Cream, & Sorbet Maker
If you’re interested in making your own ice cream at home, this could be a great lower-cost option. We really liked the consistent, creamy texture of the sorbet and ice cream that came out of the Cuisinart. This was true both immediately after production and after we froze them overnight. The sorbet was a bit icier and less perfectly consistent than that made by the other ice cream makers we tried. But that was easily remedied by dragging a spatula around the sorbet to smooth out some of the ice midchurn.
Nektek Shiatsu Neck and Back Massager
This massager, made famous on TikTok, could be a great gift for Dad. One reviewer found the nodes pressed into their neck uncomfortably, but two others who tried it loved it, so you might find the massager is just right or not right at all (but don’t worry—there’s a 30-day return window on Amazon). However, when it came to heat, this massager really shone. It reaches temperatures of 109° F. You can use this massager on various body parts, and it even comes with a car adapter, making it a boon for road trips.
