If you’re looking to shop this fall without spending too much, Amazon’s Prime Big Deal Days offer a great opportunity to save without having to wait until Black Friday. Plus, other major retailers have competitive pricing right now, so you can find big savings at Walmart, Best Buy, Target, and even Home Depot and Lowe’s, giving you more flexibility in how and where you shop. Amazon and Target’s sales are only here today and tomorrow, while Walmart and Best Buy’s sales will run through October 11. So, even when the first two sales end, they’ll more than likely still have low pricing to compete with the others’ discounts..

CR’s experts are scouring all the sales to find the best offers on only the best products that excel in our tests, so you know you’re not just getting a good price but a great product. This list encompasses everything we’ve found selling for $25-$50, but there are plenty of other items on sale as well. Whether you’re looking for something under $25 you want to keep your spending under $100, or you’re looking for something else, we’ve got you covered at our CR Deals Hub.

Hair Care Tools

Revlon One-Step Volumizer

Revlon One-Step Volumizer

The Revlon One-Step Volumizer is beloved for a reason: It just works. One tester shared this pro tip to achieve the best results: Keep tension on the hair and work in smaller sections. Otherwise, you may end up with a head full of frizz.

Tymo Ring Straightening Comb

Tymo Ring Straightening Comb

In our at-home evaluations, this straightening comb from Tymo Ring worked best for testers with curly hair. It has five temperature settings, an auto shutoff feature, and is extremely lightweight. One tester especially liked that it could straighten the hair right at the root better than the much pricier Drybar Straightening Brush it was tested against.

Kitchen

The Cosori Lite CAF-LI211 is perfect for anyone with limited counter space. This measured 1.7-quart air fryer is packed with appealing features such as a dishwasher-safe basket, preprogrammed settings, and a digital display, but with a footprint of just 9x11 inches, it comes in a small package (and a fairly small price tag, too). What’s more, this model was a standout in our tests, receiving high marks for being easy to use and to clean and remaining at a low volume while cooking. The Cosori Lite comes with a two-year warranty.

The Babish 14-inch carbon steel wok is our top-rated wok. It’s flat-bottomed, smooth, and comes seasoned. Its score for cooking evenness was top-notch, and it received a very good mark for heating speed. The metal section of its handle is short, making an unintentional burn less likely. It has a metal helper handle, making it easier to lift when full (with a potholder). Our testers found it easy to clean and use.

Bed and Bath

Utopia Premium Bath Towels

Utopia Premium Bath Towels

Utopia premium bath towels are 100 percent cotton but shrank the least in our tests, even after 10 wash and dry cycles. We found that they got a bit less soft after washing, however, and experienced some hourglassing. Certified OEKO-TEX, they’re available in plum, sage green, ivory, and lavender, among other shades. They’re usually $35 for a pack of four, so this is a nice discount.

Bedsure Heated Flannel Blanket

Bedsure Heated Flannel Blanket

The Bedsure Electric Heated Flannel Blanket is thin but light. Though it’s cozy, it resembles an inexpensive fleece blanket you’d find at a grocery store. One side is striped flannel and the other is linty fleece. The flannel is not the best quality, but it does get hot. And it has the lightest wires of the blankets we evaluated. This is the price for a throw-sized blanket. Other sizes vary in price.

Cleaning

The Leebein Power Spin Scrubber ANS-8050 is a strong scrubber with an incredibly long battery life. It can last about an hour on its highest power mode, so it’s unlikely that it will die on you in the middle of cleaning. If the battery is entirely depleted, however, it will take a while to recharge. (In our tests, it took more than 3 hours.) The scrubber has two speeds: 300 rpm and 400 rpm. It scores well for ease of use because it comes with 8 attachments, the most among the models we tested, including a scouring brush for greasy kitchen areas, a sponge brush for glass, a wool-like brush for polishing a car, and cloth brushes for leather and floor cleaning. It’s also relatively light and features an extension wand that extends up to 50 inches, giving you a wide reach. The angle of the scrubber’s head is fixed and can’t be adjusted. Unlike some of the other models, it comes with an IPX7 waterproof rating, meaning it can withstand brief immersion in water.

Headphones

In the words of ’80s rock legend Meatloaf, two out of three ain’t bad. A great pair of headphones does three things: 1) fits well, 2) delivers effective noise-canceling, and 3) sounds terrific. This Soundcore model hits the mark on the first two line items. Sound-wise? It’s not terrible, but it’s not great either. The bass is a little bloated, the midrange is not as clear as you’d like it, while the high frequencies have a sizzle that’s okay on your breakfast bacon, but not ideal on your favorite music. But at this price, you can overlook those shortcomings, especially if you’re gifting the headphones to a friend or relative who’s less than picky, or using them for podcasts or a little easy listening.

The wireless Soundcore Space A40 earbuds showcase solid sound quality, as well as admirable noise reduction in our labs. And in our member surveys, the Soundcore brand receives favorable predicted reliability and owner satisfaction ratings. But what truly sets these buds apart is the below-$50 price, which makes them giftable and, if you’re inclined to misplace things, even abandonable without tears.

We saw these dip down to $42 or so during Prime Day, but right now, this is the best price out there, and it’s still better than usual.

Streaming Devices

Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K

The Fire TV Stick 4K is Amazon’s brand-new player. It has a new slimmer design, comes with 8 GB internal storage, a quad-core 1.7 GHz processor, and WiFi 6. It supports HDR10+, but not Dolby Vision HDR and Dolby Atmos sound. The player features Direct Power, so you can power it using a TV’s USB port with the included cable. It’s built on Amazon’s newer Vega operating system and comes with a new Fire TV remote and Alexa+.

The Roku Streaming Stick Plus is the company’s entry-level 4K model. It supports HDR10+, but not Dolby Vision. It comes with a voice remote with TV power, volume, and mute buttons, plus shortcut buttons to access Netflix, Disney+, Apple TV, and Amazon Prime Video.

Travel

With its relatively low price and admirable test performance, the expandable AmazonBasics 21-inch Hardside Spinner is a worthwhile hard-shell suitcase that’s more durable and safer to handle than other models we tested. It comes with eight wheels, two handles, and a few different color options, too. However, its warranty only covers the bag for one year, and Amazon Basics’ listed dimensions of 22 x 14.9 x 10 inches are slightly larger than the carry-on size requirements of most domestic airlines.

Travelon Anti-Theft Greenlander Sling Bag

Travelon Anti-Theft Greenlander Sling Bag

With a built-in anti-theft security system, this compact sling bag can be a saving grace for those traveling with valuables. “This bag has a slash-resistant mesh barrier in front, sides, and bottom body panels, plus a slash-resistant strap. And the RFID-blocking organizer on the front locking zippered pocket is perfectly sized for a phone,” says Anne McAlpin, author of “Pack It Up: The Essential Guide to Smart Travel.” RFID, or radio frequency identification, prevents skimming theft, which can occur when illegally installed devices capture personal data like PINs for ATMs.

Personal Care

The AquaSonic Black Series SCTB performs well in most of our tests, and we found it to be especially quiet for an electric toothbrush. It doesn’t connect to a smartphone app, nor does it have a low-battery indicator or a pressure sensor, but it comes with a timer, a rechargeable battery, and four cleaning modes.

The Waterpik Aquarius is one of the few water flossers in our ratings that’s powered by plugging it into an outlet; the handset attaches to the base unit with a cord and doesn’t hold a charge. The large tank is removable, which makes it easy to refill. Keep in mind that the plug-in design means that this device will probably end up on your countertop, and the cord makes it a little harder to store. Still, it’s fairly quiet and offers 10 pressure levels to help you get used to the feel of the water stream.

The Greater Goods AccuCheck Digital Bathroom Scale is an easy-to-read, non-smart scale that’s accurate, consistent, and handles unbalanced weights well. It’s also easy to use. It uses a light system to confirm measurements—orange when weighing, green when stable. It has a backlit display and rounded corners.

The Wyze WSCLU_BL is accurate, consistent, easy to connect to, and provides accurate weights. The Wyze connects to a smart device using WiFi and Bluetooth to communicate its readings. It features automatic weight tracking, body-fat percentage, and BMI.

Bala’s Bala Bands are hard to beat for consistency and uniformity among the cloth-covered mini loop resistance bands we tested. They come in a set of three: light, medium, and heavy. They don’t provide the resistance weight in pounds on their website. The Bala Bands come with a carrying bag.

Pets

BestPet 3 Wheels Pet Dog Stroller

BestPet 3 Wheels Pet Dog Stroller

The BestPet 3 Wheels Pet Dog Stroller is an inexpensive, lightweight pet stroller that might be best for puppies or small cats—it’s only recommended for pets weighing 11 pounds or less and up to 18 months old. It was very easy to assemble: Just unfold it and add the cup holder and wheels. In general, this pet stroller felt flimsy. It does offer a nice padded cushion for comfort, but the plastic lightweight wheels made for the wobbliest ride among the strollers we tested.
