Black Friday may be officially over, but those prices are still available as we enter December. In a year marked by big price swings, it was no guarantee that we’d see the same discounts as in the past, but the sales have been great this year. By and large, many deals have materialized, and we’ve scoured thousands of them to pick out these top-tier offerings.
If you’re ready to replace your washer and dryer, need a new vacuum, or are looking to upgrade your bedroom with new pillows and sheets, we’re here to help you ferret out the best buys. All products on this list have been tested in our labs or evaluated by our experts, and all are CR Recommended.
Don’t see what you’re looking for below? Check CR’s Deals Hub, where we’re compiling the best deals across categories, from TVs and vacuums to smart home equipment, kitchen gear, and sleep essentials like mattress toppers and pillows.
Vacuums and Floor Care
The Samsung Bespoke AI Jet Lite VS80F28DMP/AA is a good vacuum to have if you don’t have a ton of carpets in your home, and the price fell $120 late Cyber Monday evening. It’s only decent at sucking debris from carpets, but it’s very good on bare floors and even better at picking up pet hair. It comes with a station that charges the vacuum and automatically empties its dust bin. The model is currently selling near the lowest price we’ve seen in the past three months, making this a deal worth acting on.
Sheets
Cool, breathable, and incredibly soft, the Buffy Breeze Sheet Set is a standout among synthetic fiber options. It earns top marks for fit and softness and holds up well in tests for shrinkage, strength, and wrinkling. Designed for mattresses up to 14 inches deep, these eucalyptus-based sheets stay smooth, stay put, and even include directional tags to make bed-making a breeze (no pun intended).
Comforters and Duvets
Buffy Cloud Comforter
Buffy’s Cloud Comforter is the softest choice in our at-home assessment, and it’s back down to the lowest price we’ve seen. Thanks to its smooth, silky feel and fluffiness, the duvet is comfortable enough to use without a duvet cover. Made of recycled materials, it’s uniformly stuffed in layers to prevent clumping and shedding. The shell material is 100 percent sateen-weave Tencel lyocell. The price below is for the all-season queen comforter, but other sizes and weights offer similar savings.
Brooklinen Down Comforter
Brooklinen’s down comforter stands out for its high-quality construction, ultra-soft feel, and excellent temperature regulation. Available in both down and down-alternative options, it comes in lightweight, all-season, or ultra-warm varieties. The all-season down version is cozy and breathable, with no noticeable clumping or feather leakage. Its sateen shell adds a touch of luxury, and features a grid design and corner ties to keep it in place. Though pricey—about $400 for a queen—it’s a worthwhile investment for those seeking top-tier comfort. It’s an even better value during Cyber Monday. The typical sale price is 20 percent for smaller holidays, so you’re saving an extra 5 percent right now.
Mattresses
If you’re looking for a soft mattress, the Casper Dream is a solid pick, providing pressure relief and comfort to those who need it. It was recently about $100 less, but this is still a nice discount. In our lab evaluation, we found the model—a newbie to CR’s ratings—to be a standout for petite back sleepers, and it serves all other sizes and positions very well. The Dream scores well for durability, too, so you can expect to get sound sleep on it for eight to 10 years. If you sleep with a partner, you should feel very little vibration from their movement. CR members give Casper mattresses high marks for comfort and owner satisfaction. This price is for the twin size, but you’ll get similar savings on other sizes in this sale.
The Layla Essential foam mattress, which is 9 inches thick, is a great lower-cost option if you’re in the market for a firm mattress. It earns CR’s top ratings for petite and average back sleepers and near-perfect scores for large back sleepers and petite side sleepers. Average and large side sleepers would find better support elsewhere, though. The mattress receives a firmness rating of 7 out of 10 in our tests. You may feel some vibrations from a fellow sleeper’s shifts; the model earns only a middling stability score. This mattress also doesn’t retain heat. In our member surveys, Layla mattresses earn solid scores for comfort and owner satisfaction.
Mattress Toppers
This 3-inch memory foam mattress topper is an exceptional price for the king-size, and the others are still a great value as well. It offers excellent support and a deeper, more cushioned feel than many others. Infused with cooling gel, it helps regulate temperature for a more comfortable night’s sleep. The flippable design adds versatility, though it lacks a cover and corner straps, which may lead to shifting. Temperature-sensitive foam means the topper feels softer when warm and firmer in cooler conditions. Weighing 15 pounds, it provides average warmth retention and a balanced blend of comfort and support.
Dehumidifiers
For smaller spaces, if quiet is a main consideration, check out the Midea MAD20S1QWT. It makes less noise than any model in our ratings while also earning standout scores for water removal, convenience, and humidistat accuracy. This dehumidifier is relatively energy-efficient and includes some nice features, such as a timer and an auto-restart function that turns the machine back on at its previous settings after a power outage. It also comes with a hose to divert water to a drain. Midea’s dehumidifiers received a very favorable rating for reliability and a midlevel rating for owner satisfaction in CR’s member surveys.
Humidifiers
The Babymoov Hygro (+) is the highest-rated humidifier for small rooms in our evaluation, and for good reason. It’s quiet, energy-efficient, and produces high moisture output. The Hygro (+) comes with a humidistat that controls the humidity level, as well as seven different colors of night light.
This humidifier, rated for small rooms, is a fantastic balance of quality and price. It’s plenty capable, and it has an indicator when the water level is low, so it’s easy to know when you need to add more (and it shuts off automatically if you don’t get there in time).
Garbage Disposals
Perhaps not the most giftable item, but maybe more of a necessity, the 1.25-hp Frigidaire FF13DISPC1 continuous-feed garbage disposal excelled in our tests, quickly and (fairly) quietly grinding scraps into small particles that won’t cause clogs. The 13-pound disposal comes with a 10-year warranty, a removable splash guard, and a plug-in power cord. A magnetic ring prevents utensils from falling inside, and antimicrobial protection guards against odors.
Tools and Yard Care
If you need a leaf blower for light-duty work, the Worx WG585 can move leaves and other light debris quickly and with ease. The leaf blower itself is also light, at just over 6 pounds. If you’ve invested in other 40-volt tools from Worx, now’s a good time to add a leaf blower to your arsenal. This is now $10 more than it was over the weekend, but still a nice value.
The Greenworks 2600602 packs a serious punch for such a small tool. At a mere 15 pounds, it can go places you’d never bring your full-sized snow blower, like up a flight of stairs or onto an elevated deck. That makes it the perfect companion to a larger machine or a good fit for anyone in an area that seldom sees more than a few inches of snow.
Washers and Dryers
If minimalist washers are your style, consider the LG Signature WM9900HSA front-loader, which is at a steep discount at Lowe’s right now, and may not be for long. Recently introduced, it offers a minimalist brushed-steel design with an intuitive LCD touchscreen, a generous 5.8-cubic-foot capacity, 26 wash programs, and AI technology that automatically detects fabrics and load size and selects the ideal settings for both the washer and its companion dryer. It also has an auto dispenser that releases detergent for up to 36 loads before refilling and can be operated remotely through its app. The price on this machine was $200 less for Labor Day, but this is still a good buy.
We did not test the LG WM4000HWA, but it’s similar to the discontinued WM3900HWA, which cleans like a champ, so we expect it to demonstrate the same excellent washing performance, energy efficiency, and water efficiency of its predecessor. Wash time on a normal/heavy soil cycle is 85 minutes, relatively speedy for a front-loader. With a claimed capacity of 4.5 cubic feet, the model can tackle big loads. The WiFi-enabled washer is also quiet, so you can feel confident about placing it near a living area. Best of all, this is the lowest price we’ve seen all year.
The LG DLGX5501W offers great performance and some nice extras at a moderate price, and it’s only $30 more than its best price. It scores admirably in our tests for drying performance, convenience, and noise, and offers a steam option, extended tumble, and WiFi capability—and it’s our top-rated dryer. Its stainless steel drum has a 7.4-cubic-foot capacity. In our surveys, CR members rank LG gas dryers at the top for both reliability and owner satisfaction.
Towels
Brooklinen’s Black Friday sale is here, and they’re offering a 25 percent sitewide discount, which is markedly better than the 20 percent discount we tend to see for minor savings events. The Dreamweave Waffle Bath Towels rank among the best of all the bath towels we’ve tested. Of the top three bath towels, they’re the second softest, but they took longer to dry than the other two. This price is for a set of two.
Want to cuddle up in your bath towel? Get the Brooklinen Super-Plush (sold in a pair), available at 25 percent off for Black Friday. These guys are huge: At a whopping, superheavy 820 grams per square meter, and being 53 inches long and 28 inches wide, the Brooklinen towel is what you want to wrap yourself in when the temps are below freezing and the thought of stepping out of a steaming warm shower onto ice-cold tile floors chills your heart. These towels were the most absorbent in our evaluation, but they also took the longest to dry.
