If you prefer to shop at Home Depot or Lowe’s, it’s always even better to get a bargain, and the holidays are rife with opportunity. In fact, they both started their early Black Friday sales, allowing you to get a head start on your holiday shopping. Plus, with Veterans Day next week, there are ample discounts on large appliances.

That’s whether you participate in MyLowe’s Rewards or Home Depot’s Pro Xtra loyalty programs, or you’ve got a credit card that rewards you for shopping there (or even a gift card burning a hole in your wallet). So the experts at Consumer Reports are bringing you the best deals on CR-tested products available online and in-store from both retailers.

We consider the product’s quality, its performance in our lab tests, and the cost over time relative to the current discount to determine whether it is actually a good deal. We want you to be able to make an informed decision and make the most of your money, whether you’re investing in a new refrigerator or washing machine, or picking up a new smart device, coffee maker, carpet cleaner, or toaster.

If you’re looking for more deals than what’s available here, you can check out the CR Deals Hub to see what else is available at other retailers during these big sales.

Floor Care

The Shark CarpetXpert EX201 isn’t exactly quiet—it earned a middling rating in our noise test—but it boasts strong performance in cleaning stains. It also did well in our dryness test and is excellent at removing cleaning solution from carpets. It comes with a hose that’s 60 inches long to get into tight spots.

Still undecided?
CR's expert guidance and unbiased reviews can help you purchase with confidence.

The Shark PowerDetect IP1251 comes with lots of bells and whistles, including a dirt detection feature and a floor-detect mode that adjusts the brush roll speed based on the surface it’s vacuuming. It’s very good at sucking up debris from carpets and is even more impressive at picking up pet hair. The vacuum can be converted into a hand vac and folded for storage.

Leaf Blowers

The Ego LB7654 delivers all-star performance across the board, adept at loosening and sweeping, all in an easy-to-handle package despite weighing 9.9 pounds. In addition, this electric blower comes with a generous five-year warranty. As a brand, Ego battery handheld leaf blowers are very reliable and earn a top mark for owner satisfaction in our latest member surveys.

Amazon had this for just $251 last month, so the price could drop again this week.

Refrigerators

The LG LFCS22520S French-door refrigerator receives stellar ratings for thermostat performance and temperature uniformity, and impresses in our tests for noise output. This 30-inch-wide LG also receives midlevel scores for energy efficiency, ease of use, and icemaker performance, but it receives a poor score for its crisper drawer performance. This model comes with digital controls, a door-open alarm, an icemaker, and spillproof shelves, but it lacks a built-in water filter. LG French-door refrigerators also earn middling predicted reliability and owner satisfaction scores in our latest member surveys. For a similar version of this refrigerator with a through-the-door water/ice dispenser, see the LG LFDS22520S.

The 36-inch-wide Frigidaire GRSC2352AF side-by-side is $100 less than it was during the last big sale. It comes in a stainless steel finish and features an icemaker, a through-the-door water/ice dispenser, a built-in water filter, an air filter, and digital controls. In our tests, this Frigidaire receives top marks for thermostat performance and ease of use, very good scores for temperature uniformity and energy efficiency, and decent scores for noise output and icemaker performance. But it receives an unfavorable score for its crisper drawer performance. In our latest member surveys, Frigidaire side-by-sides receive a decent rating for predicted reliability but a poor rating for owner satisfaction.

Washing Machines

The LG WM3400CW is already quite inexpensive even when it’s not discounted, so this is a great deal. Especially given the quality of its performance, it’s a smart buy as well as an environmentally friendly choice. You still get exceptional washing performance along with water and energy efficiency. But this model isn’t particularly gentle on fabric, so you might want to try the delicate cycle for your best threads. This washer’s claimed capacity is 4.5 cubic feet, and its cycle time is 105 minutes.

One of the most budget-friendly top-load agitators in our tests, the LG WT7005CW is just $20 more than the lowest price we’ve seen this year. This eco-friendly Green Choice washer isn’t the gentlest on clothes, but it conserves energy and water. It’s among the quietest models in our tests and causes little to no vibration, meaning it won’t disturb you with rumbling. The cycle time is 70 minutes using the normal-wash, heavy-soil setting. Shorten it by using the normal-soil setting when you can.

Clothes Dryers

The sleek, black LG DLEX4080B is expected to perform as well as its discontinued brandmate, the LG DLEX4500B, placing it among our favorite electric dryers. Its drying performance is actually better than that of the top-rated LG DLE3400W, and it boasts a range of features, including a moisture sensor, a steam option, a duct block indicator, WiFi connectivity, and an extended tumble cycle. It’s also an eco-friendly Green Choice model. It’s an all-around great performer, earning our second-highest scores for noise and convenience. You might also consider the LG DLEX4000W or the LG DLEX4200W, two similar electric Green Choice dryers from LG. They perform comparably but lack stainless steel drums, which resist damage better than plastic and painted metal drums.

Ranges

The Samsung NE63A6751SS lands just behind the other double-oven ranges we’ve tested in overall performance but still has plenty to offer—and it’s reasonably priced, too. This range scores admirably in just about every test, notably earning top ratings for low heat, baking, and oven capacity. Among other handy features, there’s a convertible oven that can be partitioned to work as either a single- or double-oven model, a convection mode in both ovens, and an air-fry setting. It’s $100 more than it was during July Fourth, so the price may improve when we reach Labor Day.

If you’re on a budget and looking for a range with strong performance, consider the GE GGF600AVSS. It’s got a street price well under $1,000, and our testers find it to be above average in all benchmarks but high heat on the cooktop. The oven has convection mode, but it lacks a self-cleaning function and a warming drawer. GE gas ranges earn very strong marks in our reliability surveys, but the owner satisfaction scores are low.

Ovens and Cooktops

The LG CBGJ3023S cooktop is $50 less than it was for the last big sale. It has five burners, with two of them high-powered. It boasts a stainless finish, continuous grates, and electronic reignition that activates if the flame goes out. It earns a top rating in our low-heat test and above-average marks in our high-heat test. LG gas cooktops receive better-than-average ratings for reliability in CR’s member surveys, but get only middling owner satisfaction ratings.

Dishwashers

The SHP9PCM5N belongs to Bosch’s Benchmark series, which boasts the brand’s most expensive and feature-packed dishwashers. This Benchmark option does a very good job of both washing and drying, and it’s especially quiet. It has many of the things you’ll find in higher-end dishwashers, like an adjustable upper rack, a third rack, a stainless steel interior, and adjustable tines. Because the dishwasher is Wi-Fi connected, you can use an app on your phone to customize where the wash arm goes and how heavily it washes different sectors of the dishwasher.

Tech

Part of Samsung’s 2025 Frame Pro series, the Samsung QN55LS03F is a 55-inch QLED TV equipped with a full-array LED backlight and local dimming. Like other Frame models, designed to display artwork and photos from Samsung’s art store when you’re not watching TV, it features a picture frame-like design, a matte screen for a print-like appearance, and minimal reflections. It comes with a slim wall mount that allows the TV to be placed flush against the wall. It’s a few hundred dollars less than it has been all year. And the 65-inch version is on sale as well, albeit for a good deal more.

The Amazon Fire TV Cube is a mashup of an Amazon Echo and a 4K Fire TV streamer. Its universal remote control capabilities let you control a host of other compatible A/V gear, including TVs, soundbars, receivers, and even some cable and satellite boxes. New features include HDMI 2.1 connections—one input and one output—for controlling other devices using your voice. (One cool trick is that the Cube will also upscale any content from a source connected to its HDMI input.) Other features include support for WiFi 6E, support for both Dolby Vision and HDR10+ HDR, and an Off button that disconnects the microphones if you don’t want the device in an always-listening mode.

Kitchen

The Ninja Single Serve Pods & Grounds PB051 dual coffee maker is perfect for college students in a dorm or an apartment. It’s almost three machines in one: a pod coffee maker, a drip coffee maker, and a milk frother. For single-serve Keurig K-Cups, a speedy first cup is paramount, and our testers found this model to be excellent in that regard. For drip brewing, we rated performance very good, meaning the machine brewed at between 195° and 205° F for 5 or 6 minutes, the industry standard for optimal brewing and the best flavor. This Ninja model has a removable reservoir, a water filter, and an indicator to tell you when you’ll need to clean it.

Grills

This high-end midsized Fuego F27S grill hits almost every mark. It rates very good at producing even heat, preheating quickly, offering a wide range of high and low temperatures, and creating indirect heat. It’s less likely than many other models to flare up. Notable features include recessed folding shelves and burners with a long warranty. (They’re the parts that are replaced the most.) An unimpressive rating for convenience is one of its few blemishes.

Microwaves

The snazzy Café CVM721M2NS5 has a recessed handle and hidden digital controls that run along the bottom. When you tap on the glass touchscreen, the options for time and cooking modes pop into view. In addition to looking good, it cooks well, earning an excellent rating in our heating evenness test. It’s also first-rate at defrosting, and it operates quietly. A sensor prevents you from overheating your food. In our member surveys, Café over-the-range microwaves earned middling scores for predicted reliability and owner satisfaction.
