Amazon’s Prime Big Deal Days ended yesterday, but Walmart and Best Buy still have big sales running through Oct. 11, which means lots of big discounts at all three retailers (and plenty of other online stores too). So if you’re looking for something for your kitchen or are already thinking about getting a jump on holiday shopping, it’s a great time to get started.

Whether you’re looking to elevate your kitchen game with a new air fryer or blender, or replace an old coffee maker or stand mixer with a high-performing new model, we’re here to help. The experts at Consumer Reports have been scouring all the major retailers all week long to cherry-pick the best offers based not just on price but on quality too.

We look at each item’s sale price and scores from our lab tests to help you find the best deals on the best-performing products. We’ll be updating this post throughout Amazon’s event, so check back again for the latest. You can also head to the CR Deals Hub to see what other deals are worth looking into, whether you’re after tech devices, other home goods, or anything in between.

Cookware

If you’re looking for a stainless steel set on a budget, the Calphalon Classic 10-Piece set could be the one for you, especially at this sale price. This set receives excellent scores for cooking evenness and heating speed. And you don’t have to worry too much about food sticking: Its scores for food release and ease of cleaning are both very good.

Air Fryers

Coffee Makers

If you want a basic glass-carafe drip coffee maker, consider the Cuisinart PerfecTemp 14 Cup Programmable DCC-3200. It’s a top-scoring model with an excellent rating for brew performance, reflecting optimal brew temperature for the best flavor. It also has very good scores for ease of use, cleaning, and carafe handling. It can be programmed to have fresh coffee waiting when you wake up, and you can adjust the brewing strength to make your coffee weaker or stronger. We’ve seen this coffee maker selling for less in the past year, but if you need a coffee maker now, it’s still a solid pick at this price.

Mixers

Like many hand mixers in our tests, the KitchenAid KHM6118CU 6 Speed excels at mixing egg whites, creating fluffy peaks in little time. Beyond that, this mixer earns very good results in the rest of our performance tests and evaluations, proving it is capable, convenient, and not too noisy, even at its highest speed. It’s available in several colors, including red, teal, and gray. We’ve frequently seen this hand mixer at prices this low in the past year, but if you’re shopping early for the holidays, this could be the best deal you’ll get before then.

The KitchenAid Artisan Mini KSM3316XWH may sound small, but it weighs 17 pounds and it carries a hefty pricetag to match. Still, those drawn to the KitchenAid brand might choose this model for its excellent results in quickly whipping egg whites into airy peaks, producing whipped cream with good volume and texture, and mixing cake batter to a smooth consistency. It does less well in our pancake batter tests, where we expect frothier results. This mixer also earns very good scores for convenience and noise. We saw this mixer at a lower price last December, but if you need to get a jump-start on your holiday shopping, this is a significant discount.

The KitchenAid Bowl Lift KSM70 looks good on a counter, and its bowl-lift style fits nicely under upper cabinets. It also operates quietly, excelling in our noise test. Performance-wise, it’s excellent at mixing cake and pancake batter and whipping egg whites to airy peaks. Its kneading performance and results in our whipped cream tests were also very good. It weighs a hefty 26 pounds and is available in blue and 11 other colors. It’s now priced at nearly 20 percent off.

KitchenAid’s Artisan Series is actually now $10 less at Walmart than it has been since Monday. It’s a step up from its Classic line. The 10-speed KitchenAid Artisan Series KSM195PSBK comes with the usual attachments, plus a pastry beater, a bowl shield to prevent splatters, and an extra 3-quart bowl for smaller jobs. The standard-issue stainless bowl is 5 quarts. In our tests, this mixer aces our tasks for whipping cream and mixing cookie dough and is almost as good at kneading bread dough. It works quietly, and our testers find it very convenient to change the beaters and clean. It weighs 21 pounds and has a tilt-head, so you’ll need some clearance between the counter and the cabinets. Bonus: You have your choice of 10 colors.

Toaster Ovens

With a temperature range of 120° F to 450° F, the 1,800-watt Breville The Smart Oven BOV800XL toaster oven does a nice job baking and producing an even batch of medium-brown toast. It’s better than many other toaster ovens at reheating food. It’s a cinch to operate and easy to clean. Plus, CR members give Breville high praise for reliability and owner satisfaction. Our testers found that this model is only so-so at toasting a single slice of bread, however, and it doesn’t toast as quickly as some other models.

The Breville The Smart Oven Air Fryer Pro BOV900BSSUSC is a relatively large toaster oven that does a better job baking than most of the toaster ovens we’ve tested, which is ideal if you want to use a toaster oven instead of your full-sized oven to keep the heat in your kitchen to a minimum. This toaster oven also has a convection bake setting and an air fry setting, and it’s generally simple to operate and easy to clean. Breville toaster ovens aren’t cheap, so it may be worth snapping one up now.

The Ninja DCT821 is an air-frying toaster oven with two separate cavities and a handy interior light to help you monitor your food while it cooks. And if you’re particular about the color of your toast, you’re in luck: We saw impressive results in our color range tests, and a full batch of toast comes out evenly browned. This toaster oven also receives a very good baking score based on tests in which we bake cookies and muffins, aiming to achieve a consistent color without underbaking or burnt edges. Plus, it’s currently at the best price we’ve seen. Like most toaster ovens, it’s not great at reheating foods. It also has a middling score for ease of cleaning.

The DeLonghi EO141164M is an easy-to-use toaster oven model that requires few steps to get you cooking. It’s also very easy to clean, and it aces our toast color range and full batch toasting tests. It also receives a very good score for toasting time. (Some of our poorest-performing toaster ovens can take nearly 10 minutes.) But this model fits fewer slices (just four) compared with most other toaster ovens in our ratings. This may be a top-scoring model, but bear in mind that, like most toaster ovens, it receives just a passable score for reheating. As a brand, DeLonghi receives midrange scores for predicted reliability and owner satisfaction in CR’s member surveys.

Blenders

If you’re shopping for a moderately priced blender from a brand known to keep its owners happy, look to the Breville the Fresh & Furious BBL620SIL, especially if you expect to purée ingredients for soups or baby food —it does exceptionally well in our purée tests. It also aces our ice-crush tests and does nearly as well making smoothies. Like many blenders in our tests, though, it earns just a middling score for noise. We haven’t seen this blender at this price since last year’s winter holidays, so if you’ve been eyeing this model, now’s the time to snap one up at 25 percent off.

Breville, as a blender brand, receives a very good score for owner satisfaction in CR’s member surveys, and the Breville Super Q BBL920BSS1BUS1 is a model that also aces our evaluations for puréeing, in which we blend cooked ingredients into a soup. It also gets a top score for convenience and a very good score for noise. This model was cheaper when it was on sale last year, but at $100 off, it’s still a great deal.

The Ninja BN701 Professional Plus with Auto iQ earns top scores in our tests for ice crushing and convenience, and it’s very good at puréeing as well. Plus, based on CR’s surveys, Ninja owners say they’re very satisfied with their blenders. The downside is that it receives just a middling score on blending smoothies. We saw this model for less around Christmas last year, but if you want to get a jump on this year’s holiday shopping, you might want to take advantage of this deal.

Vitamix blenders like the Vitamix 5200 are adept at plowing through smoothie ingredients and puréeing baby food, among other tasks. They’re pricey, but Vitamix as a brand earns top scores for reliability and owner satisfaction in CR’s member surveys. This model comes with a 7-year warranty, so it should last you a good while, and it’s 30 percent off, so if you’ve been wanting a Vitamix, now may be the time to snap one up.

Food Processors

Cuisinart introduced the food processor to the U.S. in the early 1970s, and it has been a recognized brand ever since. The Cuisinart Custom 14 DFP-14BCNY earns a top rating for slicing and is a strong performer when it comes to chopping and shredding. It also earns an excellent score for noise. It has a 14-cup capacity, stands 15 inches high, and weighs nearly 15 pounds. Many of the food processors we’ve evaluated operate with push buttons, but this one has levers: one for on, the other for pulsing and off.

The 500-watt KitchenAid KFP1318BM food processor masters our tests for slicing, and earns very good scores in our lab tests for shredding, puréeing, and grating. Its actual chopping performance, though, is just so-so. It has a generous 13-cup claimed capacity, and it’s one of the lightest models we’ve tested at just 8 pounds, meaning it will take less effort to haul out of a cabinet than other food processors in our ratings.
