Most mattresses tend to be advertised as “on sale” all year long, but the discounts are best during holiday weekends. This weekend, you’ll find some great July Fourth deals on mattresses on all the top brands, from Avocado and Casper to Leesa, Saatva, and more.

During holidays like this, discounts typically increase by 5 to 10 percent compared to their everyday discounts. Those sales are almost always available, too, so if you want to maximize your savings, July Fourth (or any holiday weekend) is the best opportunity.

And the sales don’t stop at mattresses, either. Right after July Fourth, Target Circle Week kicks off on July 6, and then Amazon Prime Day, along with Best Buy’s and Walmart’s big sales, start on July 8. This is when you’ll see big discounts on pretty much everything, including ongoing sales on mattresses. You can even shop some early Prime Day sales now.

For more information on mattresses, see CR’s mattress buying guide. CR members can check out our mattress ratings to see how well more than 200 models do in our tests for supporting people of all sizes, whether you sleep on your side or your back. Saatva’s Beat the Fourth of July Rush Sale is one of the better holiday weekend mattress sales. The company is offering $200 to $500 off, depending on how much you spend. This mattress, for instance, is $350 off right now—and CR members can save even more. Just log in and read below to learn more.

Saatva is known for being a high-end option, and the HD is the best innerspring option in its lineup, according to CR’s tests. It earns the CR Recommended badge for its above-average performance for all sleeping styles and body sizes, and it got a perfect score for durability, so you can rest easy knowing this mattress will last.

CR members can use the Shop button to get $410 off any purchase of $1,000 or more at Saatva through March 18. The discount will automatically be applied when you check out.

If you’re looking for a soft mattress, the Casper Dream is a solid pick, providing pressure relief and comfort. In our lab evaluation, we found the model—a newbie to CR’s ratings—to be a standout for petite back sleepers, and it serves all other sizes and positions very well. The Dream scores well for durability, too, so you can expect to get sound sleep on it for 8 to 10 years. If you sleep with a partner, you should feel very little vibration from their movement. CR members give Casper mattresses high marks for comfort and owner satisfaction.

The Leesa Legend Hybrid is almost always “on sale” for $1,949, but it has already dropped down to its holiday weekend price. It combines innersprings and foam, and is a winning combination for back sleepers, who can expect very good support. For all but petite side sleepers, though, support is merely midrange. The durability is first-rate, with little sagging, softening, or other damage in eight years of simulated use, and this model is highly stable. The Leesa brand earns high marks in CR’s owner surveys for comfort and satisfaction.

This 14-inch memory foam mattress from Lucid is already a bargain buy at its regular price of $529, but taking $80 off makes it an even better deal. The Lucid is ideal for petite sleepers and average side sleepers, especially if you love a softer bed. It received middling scores for stabilization, so you may feel it when your partner or pet makes major moves. It gets an excellent score for durability, so you can expect to enjoy a comfortable sleep for years to come.

The Casper Snow is one of the least heat-retaining mattresses we’ve tested, making it great for those who sleep hot. It’s also an all-around high-performing pick. Combining pocketed coils with layers of foam, this hybrid is particularly supportive for petite back sleepers but is also well suited for side sleepers of all sizes and for the average back sleeper. Large and tall sleepers may want to look elsewhere. With a firmness rating of 4 out of 10, it’s on the softer side. Its solid stability rating means sleepers are unlikely to feel vibrations from a partner’s movements.

This Sealy Posturepedic mattress might be worth a look if you’re in the market for a new innerspring mattress. Just use the code SPARKLER for the discount. It could be an especially great choice for average or petite back sleepers, and those with other sleeping styles may like it as well.

If you’re in the market for a durable foam mattress under $300, the Marley mattress from Sleep Innovations could fit the bill. It’s best for petite and average back sleepers, as well as petite side sleepers who like their mattress on the softer side. It earns a very good score for stabilization.

The Serta iSeries 2000 innerspring mattress is a higher-end bed that isn’t on sale for most shoppers right now, but CR members can qualify for additional savings (read below for more information). This mattress is a CR Recommended model because it excelled in our lab tests across the board. It scored above average for our tests for every type of sleeper, and especially for petite back sleepers, so no matter your body type or sleeping style, this could be the right fit. It gets a 4 out of 10 on the firmness scale, so it falls on the softer side.

This budget-friendly mattress provides impressive support for most sleepers. (It’s not ideal for large and tall side sleepers.) Firmness-wise, it’s on the softer side and earns solid ratings in our durability tests.

This memory foam mattress from Sleepy’s is a CR Recommended model, and though it’s not on sale for the general public, CR Digital and All Access members can read more below about an opportunity to save more. This mattress gets high marks for average and petite back sleepers, and above-average scores for all other sleeping types and body sizes. So if you prefer all memory foam and need a new bed, this could be a good option. Just note that it gets middling scores for stabilization and owner satisfaction.

The Avocado Green is often 10 percent off outside of major holidays, but we do typically see this discount improve to 15 percent closer to holiday weekends. And the July Fourth mattress sale has already begun, bringing the price of a queen Green mattress down to $1,784 from $2,099—it’s typically listed at $1,899, so you’re really saving a little more than $100. (And if you’re a CR Digital or All Access member, log on and read below about an exclusive offer to save a little extra.) The mattress performs superbly in our support tests for all sizes and sleep positions, except for petite side sleepers, where it still rates better than most. It receives only a middling score for stabilization, however, so if you don’t like much bounce or motion transfer, this mattress might not be the one for you.

CR members can save an extra $50 on any purchase of $500 or more. To get the discount, click on the Get Offer button above. Once you meet the minimum threshold, the discount will apply to your cart.

Brooklyn Bedding has mattresses, pillows, mattress toppers, sheets, and more. CR has tested a handful of the company’s products, including the Signature Hybrid mattress, which is 30 percent off with the code JULY30. As expected, it has dropped an additional 5 percent compared to what we were seeing in the weeks leading up to this weekend, making now the ideal time to buy if this is the mattress you’ve had your eye on.

This model is an exceptional choice for petite side sleepers; it got top marks in that category. And folks with other body types and sleep styles may be happy with it as well because it scored above average in all our other tests.

The Casper Sleep Element mattress performs well in CR’s tests. It gets above-average scores in almost every test and solid ratings in CR’s surveys for comfort and owner satisfaction. It gets middling scores for average and large/tall side sleepers, as well as large and tall back sleepers.

Like the Avocado mattress listed above, the savings have improved for this mattress as well, dropping 15 percent to $1,189 from $1,399—though it’s typically listed for $1,299, so the savings is closer to $100. And CR members can save extra (log on and read below for details). The Avocado Eco Organic innerspring mattress-in-a-box earns solid ratings in our tests for support for side and back sleepers. With a firmness score of 4 out of 10, it’s a much softer alternative to the Avocado Green mattress (which rates a 7 and also doesn’t retain heat) and even the Avocado Green Pillowtop (which rates a 5 and does retain heat). In our member surveys, Avocado innerspring mattresses earn very good ratings for both comfort and owner satisfaction.

CR members can save an extra $50 on any purchase of $500 or more. To get the discount, click on the Get Offer button above. Once you meet the minimum threshold, the discount will apply to your cart.

The mattress-in-a-box brand Tuft & Needle now features several more-expensive options in its line, but its original, no-frills 10-inch foam mattress remains on CR’s Recommended list—and it’s at the same sale price we saw for Memorial Day. In our lab tests, this bed showed consistently great support for petite back sleepers, as well as side sleepers of all sizes. (Average-sized and larger back sleepers would do better elsewhere.) As with most foam mattresses, this model isolates motion well, so partners are less likely to disturb each other as they shift positions. But because there’s no memory foam, you won’t experience that quicksand feel. This is a medium-firm mattress. Tuft & Needle foam mattresses receive solid ratings for owner satisfaction, according to data from our member surveys.

This hybrid mattress is back down below $300, matching the price we typically see for these holiday moments. It’s still a great value, offering terrific support for petite and average back sleepers and side sleepers of all sizes. It lets you change sleep positions without transmitting movement throughout the bed. And despite the budget price, it has excellent durability. The only people it’s not ideal for are those who exceed 6 feet, 2 inches and 220 pounds, and primarily sleep on their sides.

The Birch Natural mattress is 25 percent off for the Fourth of July with the code JULY25 (and it comes with two free pillows). It does well in CR’s tests, and if you’re a petite side sleeper, it may be an exceptional choice. It gets top scores in our tests for that category. It scores above average for all other sleepers, except large and tall side sleepers, who may want to look at other models.
