What Owners Say

Other/unsure

""Tire pressure warning system started to flas h in 2020 when ever we would started a road trip over one hour in length. Would pull over & check all tire pressures, they would be at or above required amounts for all tires. Would continue to our destination, shop, make drs appt, eat lunch, etc. TPS warning light would go out. When starting return trip homeward, TPS light would come on again! Same reaction, same results, all tires at or above required amounts! Finally, at end of 2024, made a service appt for maintenance & asked abt TPS warning light. Service mgr came back to adv one of TPS units in one tire needed to be replaced due to dying/dead battery in unit for $300.00+. Advised no thanks, will check tires once a month & ignore TPS warning light!!! So problem has not been resolved, but will be ignored!!""

Anonymous, TX (2013 Toyota Camry LE 3.5-L V6)

Transmission Major

Transmission rebuild or replacement, torque converter, premature clutch replacement.

What Owners Say

Other major transmission & clutch problem

"This car has been the worst car Ive ever owned. Right now, Im mostly concerned about the transmission failing. I owe about $7000 on it right now and dont know if it will make it to 200,000 miles. Ive always had Toyota Camrys, and they have done very well working past 250,000 miles and up with proper maintenance. According to your guide, the 2013 Camry was a good buy. I must have either found the exception, or quality has gone downhill. My last car was a 2009 Toyota Camry and it was the best car Ive ever owned despite later finding out it was on a year to avoid buying. Im confused and frustrated, and its hard to find a good, respectful, and affordable mechanic. Im sorry to rant-but is this the future normal for used car quality?"

Anonymous A., (2013 Toyota Camry SE 2.5-L 4 Cyl)

A short circuit may cause the air bags to become disabled or inadvertently deploy. An inadvertent airbag deployment can increase the risk of injury or the possibility of a crash. An inoperative airbag can increase the risk of injury in a severe crash. The power steering assist could also become inoperable resulting in increased steering effort and can increase the risk of a crash at low speeds.
Summary:
Toyota is recalling certain model year 2012-2013 Avalon, Avalon HV, Venza, Camry, and Camry HV vehicles. In the affected vehicles, the drain hose for the air conditioning condenser may become clogged causing water to accumulate at the bottom of the air conditioning condenser unit housing. The accumulated water may then leak through a seam in the housing onto the air bag control module potentially resulting in a short circuit of the module.
What should you do:
Toyota will notify owners, and dealers will seal the air conditioning condenser unit housing and install a protective cover on the airbag control module, free of charge. The recall began on February 5, 2014. Owners may contact Toyota at 1-800-331-4331.

Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.safercar.gov.
