The Reliability score is based on our latest subscriber survey of 2013 Lexus RX owners. The owner comments describe problems respondents experienced with this vehicle.

    Suspension/Steering

Shocks or struts, ball joints, tie rods, wheel bearings, alignment, steering linkage (includes rack and pinion), power steering (pumps and hoses, leaks), wheel balance, springs or torsion bars, bushings, electronic or air suspension.

    What Owners Say

    Bushings

"Dealer service department found cracked bushings during regular service inspection. The front lower control arm was replaced"

    Anonymous, FL (2013 Lexus RX 350 3.5-L V6)
    Other steering/suspension problem

"Boots on stabilizer bar end link assemblies starting to leak grease. Both front stabilizer bar end link assemblies removed and replaced."

    Anonymous, FL (2013 Lexus RX F Sport 3.5-L V6)
    Power steering

"The "in the steering column" power steering unit started making noises and when checked on it was failing gradually and in order to prevent complete failure while driving it required replacement. The design of the unit requires full replacement using a Lexus part at very high cost for the part as well as for the labor due to the complexity of the overall steering design."

    Anonymous, FL (2013 Lexus RX 350 3.5-L V6)
    Shocks or struts

"Both front struts were leaking and were worn out, needed replaced."

    Anonymous A., OH (2013 Lexus RX 350 3.5-L V6)

Muffler, pipes, catalytic converter, exhaust manifold, heat shields, leaks.

    What Owners Say

    Other/unsure

"The brakes squeak after being serviced, but the service department is unable to fix it. They claim the squeaking is due to moisture because the car was in a warmer climate and is now in a colder one. The fix is to pump the brakes twice and it will stop. Oddly, it works. The second issue is the sensor light for the tires comes on, and the service department cannot turn it off."

    Anonymous, CA (2013 Lexus RX 350 3.5-L V6)

"Horn failed. Replaced the Clock Spring"

    Anonymous, FL (2013 Lexus RX 350 3.5-L V6)

The interface between the car and iphone is not that stable causing me to have to terminate the connection and re-connect or to turn the car off completely and restart. I have not updated any of the car software via the Lexus dealership in recent years which might be an issue. I don't know."

    Anonymous, MA (2013 Lexus RX 350 3.5-L V6)

""In the middle of winter, had to bring it twice to dealership to get the heat to work. first time, worked for 1-2 weeks then stopped. If this occurs, these systems could become inoperative, reducing the directional control assistance, increasing the risk of a crash.
    Summary:
Toyota is recalling certain model year 2012 and 2013 Toyota Tacoma and Lexus RX350 vehicles and certain model year 2012 Toyota Rav4 vehicles. In the affected vehicles, the brake system contains a brake actuator that adjusts the fluid pressure of each wheel cylinder. An electrical component within the actuator may experience an increased resistance resulting in the illumination of various warning lights, including those for the Vehicle Stability Control (VSC) system, Antilock Brake System (ABS), and Traction Control system.
    What should you do:
Toyota will notify owners, and Toyota and Lexus dealers will update the software for the Skid Control electronic control unit, free of charge. The recall began on March 28, 2014. Owners may contact Toyota at 1-800-331-4331.
