"The windshield cracked while it was parked and I was away for several days. It was a crack with no impact and spread across the bottom of the windshield."

"The 2025 Santa Fe is not offered with a spare tire - not standard, not an option. Not full-size, not "donut" size. It does come with a sealant and inflation kit - which "paints" the expressway shoulder with sealant through the puncture. It is my fault for not researching this or pursuing it before purchase, but we had a puncture and significantly disrupted weekend, from waiting on an expressway for a flatbed, through waiting for a repair shop opening on Monday, then being driven 60 miles back to the shop to get it. Hyundai's response is that they do not offer a spare, nor will they support the 2023 bracket (even though it apparently fits) -basically told that if you want the safety of a spare, buy one on your own and keep it in the rear passenger compartment."

""At 4500 miles I had an unrepairable flat tire. Neither any of the dealers nor tire outlets in my city had the tire I needed. Since I had an all wheel drive, and this car was our only car, we could not wait a week or 10 days to get a compatible tire. I had to buy 4 new tires at costco to get my car on the road. Since we had no space to store 3 almost brand new tires, I had to leave them at costco. I probably won't buy another car without a spare tire and will probably avoid an all wheel drive.""

What Owners Say

12V battery

"One month after purchasing my 2025 Hyundai Santa Fe hybrid, after driving back from a college visit in a winter storm, all the sensors failed on the vehicle due to ice build up. Two days later, after not driving the vehicle, the battery was dead. I keep it garaged at home and unlocked since the garage, as I have for my last five vehicles. After jumpstarting I took the vehicle to service at the dealership where they were unable to replicate the problem. Which seems to be the Hyundai requirement to repair. The battery tested as failed in February. Subsequently I was able to replicate the problem (leaving it unlocked and not driven for 72 hours), and it went to the dealership at least four more times, maybe five. I left it for four days the last time, providing the dealership service department specific steps and conditions to replicate the battery failure, but they were unable to maintain the conditions (this was in early July 2025). Hyundai has provided excellent support from the customer service side, escalating it to a team that takes care of buy-backs, but they need the issue replicated. Due to that fact they closed my case in late July, then on August 5th the battery died again under completely unknown circumstances and following the "Official" service recommendation to keep the vehicle locked in the garage. My case was reopened and service scheduled for 8/29/25 for an indefinite period IF they will provide a loaner, which they do not guarantee. Then this week, while packing the vehicle to take my daughter to college the battery died unexpectedly, I believe it was because the second row seats were not going flat and I had to press the buttons a lot, but I had told Hyundai they were not functioning as expected. The use should not drain a 12v battery. I have done research and asked them to replace the battery as it consistently reports that it is bad and it seems to be a common issue with 12v batteries in various hybrids all supplied by the same manufacturer. I theorize it is also a software failure, that the proximity of the key fobs keep the car actively communicating, and the software needs an improved if/then statement to time out when communicating with the key fob and the app. Hyundai telling me to keep my car keys further away is ridiculous since we have always kept the car keys where we do and my 2018 Lincoln MkX had a key fob I could remote start and an app. To be honest this Santa Fe is the most amazing car and I love it. I broke my first rule of car buying, not checking CR and not waiting for the third year of a new model. I would take a replacement any day if Hyundai offered but right now I just want them to try replacing the battery, but at an oil change on the 16th the battery tested fine, then that last battery death mentioned above happened on the 19th. I have emails, photos and more if requested."

"Earth brass is such a beautiful color that I only hand wash my SUV. Well within the past month I noticed 2 areas (hood near emblem and the back of passenger side mirror) has started to crack. I absolutely devastated, Ive only had the vehicle 4 months and this is already occurring. What about when Im 5 years in or worse 10. It would be a very ugly situation."
