What Owners Say
"Stopped and needed to be replaced"
Anonymous, OH (2014 Honda CR-V EX-L 2.4-L 4 Cyl)""My entire air conditioning system had to be replaced, and I didnt even have 100,000 miles on the vehicle yet. Completely unacceptable. Honda knows about these Issues with CR-V air conditioners for decades and has not corrected it or provided relief for consumers. I had been a diehard Honda fan since the year CONSUMER REPORTS rated them the best car manufacturer in the U.S. and recommended every single vehicle they sold in the U.S. I have bought and driven only Honda vehicles since 2001. I now dont feel inclined to ever buy another Honda.""
Anonymous A., LA (2014 Honda CR-V EX-L 2.4-L 4 Cyl)"AC system was only blowing hot air. Mechanic found multiple leaks and a failed compressor."
Anonymous, CA (2014 Honda CR-V Unsure 2.4-L 4 Cyl)"The compressor clutch was "fried" recently (about a week ago). According to my trusty mechanic that is not uncommon for CRVs. He showed me with a mirror exactly where this problem had occurred. I am currently waiting for my mechanic to get the parts he needs. But he is having trouble getting quality parts lately, likely due to tariffs and supply chain issues. He does not want to put in cheaper parts that he'd need to replace "in a year". So I'm living without AC, hopefully just temporarily ;)"
Anonymous, NC (2014 Honda CR-V EX 2.4-L 4 Cyl)""Estimate to fix $3,500""
Anonymous, TN (2014 Honda CR-V EX 2.4-L 4 Cyl)"Stopped working."
Anonymous, MD (2014 Honda CR-V EX 2.4-L 4 Cyl)""This has happened two or three times. One time may have been done to a mouse getting in there and making a nest. The others were not related to that. If you banged on it, it started working.""
Anonymous, AZ (2014 Honda CR-V EX-L 2.4-L 4 Cyl)"Didn't last very long, even though I didn't use the AC that much. Very expensive to fix, with no guarantees the fix would last."
Anonymous, MD (2014 Honda CR-V EX 2.4-L 4 Cyl)""Not really sure which (A/C Compressor or Condenser) was the issue but freon was the answer, in any case.""

Anonymous A., MA (2014 Honda CR-V EX-L 2.4-L 4 Cyl)"The A/C is not cooling off sufficiently"
Anonymous, VA (2014 Honda CR-V EX-L 2.4-L 4 Cyl)""when it got warmer this spring, we noticed the ac was not cooling. took it to the mechanic and they reloaded color tinted refrigerant. still pending to see where there may be a leek.""
