    Climate System

AC compressor, blower (fan) motor, condenser, evaporator, heater system, automatic climate system, electrical failure, refrigerant leakage.

    What Owners Say

    A/C compressor

"mechanic has worked on the AC system several times in the van. We have never been satisfied as the system requires periodic maintencance."

Anonymous, WI (2014 Dodge Grand Caravan American Value 3.6-L V6)
    Heater system

""Drivers side heater was stuck on cold this past fall. Ended up changing out the actuator so that the driver would not freeze this past winter. Now that spring and summer are approaching, the passenger side, which was working fine in the fall, is now stuck on hot. I'm sure that is going to be yet another actuator replacement so the passenger doesn't die of heat exhaustion this summer.""

Anonymous A., MI (2014 Dodge Grand Caravan SXT 3.6-L V6)
    Other climate system problem

"No ac on passengers' side Have not had it checked yet."

Anonymous, FL (2014 Dodge Grand Caravan SE 3.6-L V6)

    "air filter replaced."

Anonymous, WA (2014 Dodge Grand Caravan SXT 3.6-L V6)

Anonymous, DE (2014 Dodge Grand Caravan Unsure 3.6-L V6)

"the vents get stuck, it has blown cold in the winter, hot in the summer, the system had to get recharged, i seem to be fixing the stuck vents every seasin for the last 3 winters. the window wont go up and down on drivers side. the rear wheel the inflationtion sensor is a problem, its not true."

"Rear Lines rusted out and had to be replaced"

Anonymous, CT (2014 Dodge Grand Caravan SE 3.6-L V6)

    Engine Minor

Accessory belts and pulleys, engine computer, engine mounts, engine knock or ping, fuel leaks, oil leaks.

    What Owners Say

    Engine computer

"PCM engine control computer failed intermittently resulting in multiple sensor codes and killing engine power at unsafe times (eg on freeway and in intersections ). It was difficult/expensive to diagnose and multiple sensors were unnecessarily replaced to isolate down to the PCU. In addition, MOPARs web site had the part $400+ cheaper than dealership. A part like this a local repair shop has to buy from the dealership but the dealership would not honor the MOPAR price. In general the number of things that have broken in this van is excessive over the duration that I have owned it. Dodge takes no responsibility for their poor quality then dealership overcharges on parts."

Anonymous, AZ (2014 Dodge Grand Caravan SXT 3.6-L V6)
    Engine knock or ping

"The engine has a loud ticking that keeps getting worse. Was told it's a rocker/follower tick. Very common on these vans."

Anonymous A., MI (2014 Dodge Grand Caravan SXT 3.6-L V6)
    Oil leaks

"Oil Filter housing had to be replaced"

Anonymous A., NH (2014 Dodge Grand Caravan SE 3.6-L V6)

    "UPPER OIL PUMP GASKET"

Anonymous, FL (2014 Dodge Grand Caravan SE 3.6-L V6)

"The oil filter housing failed and needed to be replaced. The mechanic said the original housing that was put in this vehicle was cheap. (Made of plastic). They replaced it with one made out of metal. The mechanic also said they have seen this issue in many Dodge Grand Caravans."

    Anonymous, MI (2014 Dodge Grand Caravan R/T 3.6-L V6)

    Paint/Trim

Paint (fading, chalking, peeling, or cracking), loose interior or exterior trim or moldings, rust.

Anonymous, TX (2014 Dodge Grand Caravan SE 3.6-L V6)

    Electrical Accessories

Cruise control, clock, warning lights, body control module, keyless entry, wiper motor or washer, tire pressure monitor, interior or exterior lights, horn, gauges, 12V power plug, USB ports, alarm or security system, remote engine start, heated or cooled seats, heated steering wheel, headlights, automatic headlights, automatic wipers, wireless charging pad.

    What Owners Say

    Other electrical system problem

""Unable to Roll down any of the 4 windows or lock and unlock the doors with the driver's or passenger's side control switches. Sliding door windows can be rolled down using the respective switches on the sliding doors. Electric locks work from the keyfob, but not the door switches. Master control switch panel in drivers door was replaced without resolving the problem. It is belied that there are broken wires in the harness going from the drivers door to the interior of the van. The problem started out to be intermittent; depending on how far the door was opened, you could get the locks and windows to work, or the interior lights to illuminate. Now there is nothing at all. I will be looking into the wiring issues this summer.""

    Transmission Major

Transmission rebuild or replacement, torque converter, premature clutch replacement.

    What Owners Say

    Transmission rebuild or replacement

"After stopping at a light when starting to go again it would get stuck in a higher gear and wouldn't want to go or when going up a hill it wouldn't shift into a different gear and engine RPMs would increase greatly. I would have to pull over and shut vehicle off and a minute the restart and issue would correct itself."

    Anonymous, OR (2014 Dodge Grand Caravan R/T 3.6-L V6)

    Brakes

Premature pad/rotor wear, pulsation or vibration, antilock system, parking brake, master cylinder, calipers, squeaking, brake failure, regenerative braking.

    What Owners Say

    Premature brake wear

"The rear breaks are repalced every year because they wear out very quickly. It's not normal to have to replace breaks once a year on a car that doesn't drive that much - we're wtill under 100k miles on a 10 year old car."

If the fire extinguisher does not function properly, it can increase the risk of injury in the event of a fire.
    Summary:
Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling various Dodge, Chrysler, and RAM vehicles equipped with Kidde Plastic-Handle or Push Button 'Pindicator' Fire Extinguishers. A list of the affected trailer models is available at: https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/rcl/2017/RMISC-17V824-0103.pdf. These extinguishers may become clogged, preventing the extinguisher from discharging as expected or requiring excessive force to activate the extinguisher. Additionally, in certain models, the nozzle may detach from the valve assembly with enough force that it could cause injury and also render the product inoperable. For a full list of the affected fire extinguisher models visit: https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/rcl/2017/RMISC-17E062-5427.pdf
    What should you do:
Chrysler will notify owners instructing them to contact Kidde for a replacement fire extinguisher, free of charge. The recall began February 14, 2018. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403 or Kidde customer service service toll-free at 1-855-262-3540, or online at www.kidde.com and click on "Product Safety Recall" for more information. Chrysler's number for this recall is T82.
    For more information:
Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.safercar.gov.

If the windshield dislodges during a crash, there is an increased risk of occupant injury.
    Summary:
FCA US LLC (Chrysler) is recalling certain model year 2015-2016 Chrysler Town and Country, and 2014-2015 Dodge Grand Caravan vehicles manufactured August 16, 2014, to December 5, 2015. The windshield on the affected vehicles may have been installed using expired urethane primer, allowing the windshield to become displaced in the event of a crash. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 212, "Windshield Mounting."
    What should you do:
Chrysler will notify owners, and dealers will replace the windshield, free of charge. The recall began March 4, 2016. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Chrysler's number for this recall is S02.

    TIRES
    Oct 08, 2014
If the TPMS light illuminates because the sensors cannot be located, it could mask an actual low tire pressure condition, possibly resulting in tire failure, increasing the risk of a crash.
    Summary:
Chrysler Group LLC (Chrysler) is recalling certain model year 2014 Chrysler Town and Country and Dodge Grand Caravan vehicles manufactured March 20, 2014, to April 22, 2014, and 2014 Jeep Wrangler vehicles manufactured March 21, 2014, to April 22, 2014. Due to a software error, the Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) may fail to learn the locations of the individual sensors while the vehicle is being driven. As a result, the low tire pressure warning light will illuminate, despite the the tire pressures being within specification. Should one of the tires lose air pressure, the driver would not be notified of the change in air pressure. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 138, "Tire Pressure Monitoring Systems."
    What should you do:
Chrysler has notified owners, and dealers will reprogram the TPMS module, free of charge. The recall began on October 23, 2014. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Chrysler's number for this recall is P63.
    For more information:
