Transmission Minor

Gear selector and linkage, transmission computer, transmission sensor or solenoid, clutch adjustment, rough shifting, slipping transmission, leaks.

What Owners Say

Gear selector or linkage

""At least once a week after putting the truck in park, the key cannot be removed from the steering column. You have to play with the shifter so you can finally remove the key""

Anonymous, PA (2018 Chevrolet Colorado Z71 3.6-L V6)
Other minor transmission & clutch problem

"Transmission was affected by known shuddering issue at around 55k miles. Was addressed through warranty claim."

Anonymous, IN (2018 Chevrolet Colorado LT 3.6-L V6)
Slipping transmission

""We noticed a vibration when the truck would shift into gears about 3 months after we bought it. It appeared to happen after driving for about 10-15 minutes once the truck warmed up. It never seemed to happen when we took it to the dealer because they hadn't been driving it for long enough. By the time we understood what was happening that it only happened when it was hot, the lease was up and my husband had to decide whether to buy it or return the lease. At that time (2021) cars were too expensive because of covid and the chip shortage etc. So my husband decided to buy out the lease.""

Anonymous, PA (2018 Chevrolet Colorado Z71 3.6-L V6)

""It started mid 2024. When the truck would get to about 35mph it would rev higher, kind of chugging. This happened every time the truck got up to 35mph. There were some complaints online. It said usually transmission flush would take care of the problem. Sometime the manufacturer would cover it, other times they would not. We took it to dealership, they would not cover it. Took it to the place we go for oil changes, they flushed the transmission and flushed it again. Then refilled it and it has been working fine since.""
