Cadillac Catera

EPA MPG: NA

CR's Take
The Catera competes on an equal footing with the best European and Japanese sports sedans. This German-designed, rear-wheel-drive Cadillac is based on the Opel Omega. It handles nimbly and accelerates smoothly, and the brakes are exceptional. The ride is firm, supple, and well controlled. An effective traction-control system is standard. The interior is roomy; the front seats are large and supportive, and three adults fit nicely in the rear. A mild face-lift, side air bags, and other tweaks are new for 2000. The Sport model received revised equipment, including 17-inch wheels.
