What is it? The Nismo is a new high-performance version of the 370Z coupe with a 350-hp V6 engine, retuned suspension, 19-inch wheels, and a large rear wing and front air dam. The engine's extra 18 hp comes from a 500-rpm higher redline, up to 7500 rpm, as well as a revised exhaust system. It is available only with the 370Z's six-speed manual transmission with its rev-matching feature. There are no options.
The suspension is upgraded with a strut-tower brace, springs 15 and 10 percent stiffer, front and rear, larger anti-roll bars, and stiffer shocks. Brake upgrades include 14-inch front rotors with 4-piston calipers and 13.8-inch rear rotors with 2-piston calipers. A limited-slip differential is standard.
The interior uses unique black and red cloth seats with anti-slip material in the center to hold occupants in place during cornering. Red stitching on the gearshift matches the Nismo-logo seats. Each car will have a numbered plaque on the dashboard.
What is new or notable? The hood, door panels, and hatchback are aluminum to save weight.
When will it be available? June 2009
