What is it? Hyundai introduced a freshened Elantra with various design upgrades and the new Sport trim line added to the lineup.
The Sport and the updated Elantra Coupe feature a new direct-injection 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine producing 173 hp. Both will have 17-inch alloy wheels and a rear-spoiler. Sport-tuned steering and suspension calibrations are also included in the Sport and Coupe line to improve handling.
The previous Elantra GLS is now the SE trim line. Inside enhancements on the Elantra line include available Pandora Internet radio and a color 4x3-inch LCD touch-screen display with rearview camera standard on the Limited and Sport and available on the SE. Navigation and a seven-inch touch screen is available on the Limited line. Also notable, Hyundai cites a long list of measures to reduce noise, vibration, and harshness.
Safety upgrades include hill assist, blind-spot mirror for the driver, and standard Blue Link and Hyundai Assurance Connected Care on the Limited line, providing concierge telematics services and infotainment for three years.
