What is it?
Lincoln is hinting without much subtlety that the MKS looks a lot like what to expect from the company's next flagship sedan. If nothing else, another MK name seems like further confirmation the carmaker is trying to move further away from its traditional image. Describing the styling as conveying an "athletic nature and performance", Lincoln hopes the look will help attract a new generation of buyers to the brand, while remaining "Distinctly American."
While retaining such standards from the Lincoln songbook as the waterfall grill and cushy, heated and cooled seats with 14-way adjustment, the MKS also goes high tech with Bluetooth, DVD audio, 14-speaker surround sound, and adaptive LED headlights. The MKS also features a panoramic glass "Vista roof", which seems to be all the rage in Detroit these days. Powered by a 315-hp, 4.4-liter V8 mated to a six-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel-drive, the MK is also the first Lincoln to wear 20-inch wheels as standard equipment.
What is new or notable?
The Lincoln's adaptive headlights use electronic sensors to sequentially illuminate LEDs as the MKS rounds a bend.
