What is it? Acura has stuffed the TL V6 engine into its smaller TSX sedan. Known as the entry point to the premium brands product range, the TSX is elevated to sports sedan status with its new 280-horsepower engine and sequential automatic transmission.
What is new or notable: More than engine upgrade, the TSX V6 is a complete package with suspension upgrades and larger-diameter 18-inch wheels. In addition, the front fascia is unique. While well equipped, the pricey technology package remains an option. It includes a navigation system, rearview camera, and uplevel audio system.
CR's take: At a time when manufacturers are scrambling to improve fuel efficiency, Acura took a curious turn with a model that has had a reputation for being affordable and thrifty.
When will it be available? Summer 2009.
