What is it? BMW has revised the 3 Series for 2009, with updated exterior and interior styling. Most noticeable, new headlamps and fascia give the car a freshened visage.

A 335d diesel sedan joins the model range. The 50-state compliant engine is fitted with both a small and large turbocharger. Together, the sequential turbos push the 3.0-liter engine to output 265 horsepower. More significantly, the peak torque is 425 lb.-ft.almost as much as the BMW V12. BMW estimates fuel economy to be 23 mpg city, 36 mpg highway. Acceleration is claimed to be 6.0 seconds 0-60 mph.

What is new or notable: The iDrive system has been updated to be easier to use, which sounds like a good thing.
