What is it? The Pontiac G6 has a 164-horsepower 2.4L four-cylinder engine and a six-speed automatic transmission.
What's new and notable? More information to come during the show.
CR's take: The G6 isn't a very good car. Our tested 3.5-liter V6 had ample power but returned just 20 mpg overall. The noisy and rough 2.4-liter, four-cylinder got 22 mpg. The four-speed automatic is smooth, and a six-speed automatic is new for 2009. Both models have ordinary handling that gets sloppy at its limits, but the steering has been improved on V6 models. Interior quality is unimpressive.
When will it be available? January 2009.
