What is it? The Mazda3 is a four-door compact sedan, and by far Mazda's largest seller, accounting for about one in three Mazdas sold worldwide. The sedan has been redesigned and considerably enhanced for the 2010 model year; a four-door hatchback version will follow soon after the sedan's debut. The outgoing Mazda3 has been one of Consumer Reports' top-Rated small cars. The new four-cylinder engine has been beefed up a little, growing from 2.3 liters to 2.5, and now rated at 167 hp.

What is new or notable? The Mazda3 offers a series of options unusual for this class, including keyless entry with push-button start, adaptive HID headlights, hands-free Bluetooth integration, and a 10-speaker Bose surround-sound audio system.
