What is it? The redesign of the Nissan Murano crossover rides on the same platform as the Nissan Altima and has a thoroughly new interior look and a revised exterior that still captures the vehicle’s distinctive look from the past generation.
The new design includes an available dual panel power sliding glass moonroof and second-row skylight. Other available features include heated front and rear seats, backup camera, and a foldaway cargo organizer.
The 265-hp 3.5-liter V6 engine is revised—and Nissan says refined—from the previous generation. It’s coupled to a CVT transmission with Adaptive Shift Control. The Murano will have a choice of front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. Stability control and traction control are standard.
CR’s take: We expect a lot from the new Murano as the previous incarnation scored very well in our tests and it now rides on the platform of one of our top-rated sedans.
When will it be available? January 2008
