What is it? The Jaguar XF is a new five-passenger, four-door sports sedan that will compete with the BMW 5 Series and Mercedes-Benz E-Class. It will be available with a choice of two engines–a 4.2-liter V8 with 300 horsepower and a 4.2-liter supercharged V8 producing 420 horsepower. Both engines will feature a six-speed automatic transmission with steering-wheel-mounted paddles for manual gear selection. The XF will be offered in three trim levels: Luxury, Premium Luxury, and Supercharged.
A new feature inside the XF is the JaguarDrive Selector--a control device that rises from the center console when the car is turned on. Another new technology uses touch to activate the interior lights and open the glovebox.
Among the electronic safety systems, such stability control, there is Jaguar’s first application of “Understeer Control Logic” that can decelerate the car and help to restore grip to the front wheels when needed.
When will it be available? March 2008.
