Chrysler Nassau

What is it? The Nassau is a luxury four-door hatchback sedan with a sloping roofline that makes it look a little like a coupe. It's about the size of a Chrysler 300 and uses a 425-hp, 6.1-liter Hemi V8 engine with a five-speed automatic transmission. The interior has four individual bucket seats. The instrument panel has a three-layer screen, which can display vehicle information along with navigation and entertainment systems simultaneously. (Don't ask us how you would decipher all that information at once.) Mouse-like joysticks control the entertainment systems front and rear.

What is new or notable: The Nassau could portend the look of the next-generation of the popular Chrysler 300 or be sold as a rakish supplement to it.

CR's take: Why name a car after a county in Long Island? We think it should be named Crossfire5. While some of the styling cues might make their way into future Chrysler products, there's no way Chrysler will replace the 300 with a hatchback.
