What is it? The ecoVoyager is one a trio of electrically-powered concept cars Chrysler shown at the Detroit auto show. It's a front-wheel drive, four-door, four-seat sedan with an electric motor rated at 268 horsepower. The motor draws power from a lithium-ion battery pack which by itself can move the car for about 40 miles. However, the ecoVoyager also packs a hydrogen fuel cell stack that extends the range to 300 miles, according to Chrysler. The body's rear doors are hinged at the rear; there is no center roof pillar. All four door open 90 degrees, easing access to the spacious interior. Inside, most switches and knobs are hidden discretely so as not to interfere with the clean, spare styling.
What's new or notable? The entire propulsion system is beneath the floor, leaving copious interior space for people or packages.
