What is it? The 140S concept is a front-wheel drive, four seat sporty coupe. The 3-door hatchback features performance chrome 21-inch wheels. Based on the same platform as the Chevrolet Cruze and Chevrolet Volt electric vehicle, the 140S would have a 1.4-liter turbo direct injection engine producing 150-hp paired with either a six-speed automatic or optional manual transmission. Fuel economy is expected to reach 40 mpg. The 140S would have stop/start technology as well as Chevrolet’s MyLink infotainment system and Wi-Fi capability.

What’s new or notable? Along with the Code 130R, the Tru 140S has a younger audience for Chevrolet in its sights. The division says the Corvette cross-flag emblems on their flanks will denote a new sporty collection of cars within the brand, including the Camaro and the Corvette. It will tour the show circuit, college campuses and other venues with the Code 130R entice young drivers to check out Chevrolet. In the past, GM has shown multiple cars aimed at the same audience to see which one clicks. The Code 130R and the Tru 140S may be such a case.
