What is it? Mazda unveiled the redesigned Mazda3 at the New York auto show, whichl features  SKYACTIV, a new suite of fuel-saving technologies. It  includes a completely redesigned and efficient internal combustion gasoline or diesel engine, plus advanced body and chassis. 

A 2.0-liter engine will be mated to either a six-speed manual or automatic transmission. 

Mazda claims fuel economy will be 40 mpg highway with the help of the SKYACTIV technologies.
