What is it? Volkswagen has introduced an updated version of its swoopy CC for the 2013 model year at the LA Auto Show.
The four-seat sedan has a coupe-like roofline that compromises functionality compared with a traditional sedan. The new model has a more prominent large, square grille to make it look more like the new Passat, along with blockier tail lights á la the freshened Eos convertible.
In a response to consumer demand, the CC will now seat five rather than only four.
The CC will continue with the 2.0-liter turbocharged direct-injected four-cylinder engine. One change is now there is extra torque to the front wheels.
The CC will carry over the current safety features, adding new ones such as Bi-Xenon headlights, LED taillights and license plate illumination and daytime running lights. Inside, the CC has new adjustable head restraints and remote latching for the rear seatback, which allows easier unlatching of the split seats.
When will it be available? Spring 2012.
