What is it? The Impreza Design Concept was shown in LA to showcase "possible future Subaru design elements." The Impreza, the company's global compact car since 1992, was redesigned for the 2008 model year. The Concept Design features the company's new-generation flat-four boxer engine and continuously variable transmission.
Subaru says the car's "design yields both a roomy cabin and excellent aerodynamic performance." On the safety front, the Design Concept has a driving-assist "EyeSight" system comprised of a camera installed along the front edge of the roof. The system is said to show images on a monitor in the center of the gauge cluster, and it incorporates the latest in collision-prevention technology.
Consider this a preview of things to come.
