What is it? Celebrating their 75th anniversary, Jaguar is showcasing an extended-range electric sports car concept at the LA Auto Show. The C-X75 uses lightweight aluminum construction that helps the performance and fuel economy. Jaguar claims the supercar is capable of racing 0-62 mph in 3.4 seconds and reaching a 205 mph top speed.

The vehicle has four electric motorsone for each wheel--that allows the C-X75 to be a four-wheel drive vehicle for added track grip. The car can travel on battery for 68 miles and recharge in six hours from a conventional plug, but two micro gas-turbines can generate enough electricity for a range of 560 miles.

Inside there is a new driver interface using high-resolution touch-screen technology and virtual 3D displays for driver information.

What is new or notable? While this striking model is only a concept, it hints at the company's future design and possibly technology efforts.
