What is it? Cadillac has introduced the Urban Luxury Concept, a compact city car designed in Los Angeles with an idea that could be at home in Asia or Europe. At 151 inches, the Urban Luxury Concept stretches just five inches longer than the diminutive Mini Cooper. It is also two inches taller.

A small car by any measure, the Urban Luxury Concept is a four seater, with access via scissor-type doors that extend outward and rotate forward when opened. The interior makes extensive use of touchscreens for controls and displays in place of traditional gauges, though it retains a simple overall design. The two sunroofs help make the car feel larger than it is. There is an Orbit Baby SmartHub docking station in the rear to aid in fitting a child safety seat.

The mild-hybrid powertrain combines a small-displacement 1.0-liter, three-cylinder engine with electric assist technology, engine start-stop function, and brake energy regeneration. Cadillac claims the combination of car and powertrain could potentially provide 56 mpg city, 65 mpg highway.
