Ford Transit Connect Electric
What is it? The Transit Connect Electric is a conversion of Ford's small commercial van that runs on electricity. It is designed for use for predictable urban routes and has a range of 80 miles and a top speed of 75 mph. Power comes from a 28-kilowatt lithium-ion battery pack mated to an electric motor and a single-speed transmission.

What's new and notable? The Transit Connect Electric can be recharged in as little as 6 hours from a 220 volt outlet. Ford says that the Connect Electrics battery pack should last the life of the vehicle.

Also shown is the CNG Taxi version.

When will it be available? Late 2010
