What is it? Cadillac unveiled a new sport wagon version of the upscale CTS sedan at the Detroit auto show. The new wagon will feature two engine options--a 3.6L direct-injection V6 engine that produces 304 hp and a smaller 3.0L with about 260 hp. Both will operate on regular gasoline. All-wheel-drive will be available.

Design highlights include an integrated roof load management system that blends the cross bars with the roofline. Cadillac shoppers will have another all-weather option in the redesigned SRX.

What's new or notable? The wagon will be close to the same size as the sport sedan, but Cadillac claims it doubles the cargo capacity, with 25 cubic feet behind the rear seats.

When will it be available? Spring 2009.
